Guided Practice
Find a space where you can move freely and comfortably, taking a few deep breaths, allow your body to relax and your mind to center on the present moment. Allow your shoulders to relax away from your ears. Imagine each breath softening your body.
Bring to mind a feeling of shame or embarrassment that you have been holding onto. Notice where this feeling lives in your body — perhaps in your chest, your stomach, or your shoulders. Feel the weight or tightness that comes with this emotion, allowing yourself to fully acknowledge its presence. Start by moving slowly, allowing your body to express this feeling of shame through movement. Notice how your body wants to move — perhaps a curling inward, a turning away, or a slow, heavy step. Let these movements be a physical manifestation of the emotion, exploring the sensation without judgment. You might feel a pull to move in ways that reflect the heaviness or tightness — maybe twisting, shaking, or contracting. Stay with these sensations, allowing the movement to guide your exploration. As you continue moving, gradually invite a shift in your movements, perhaps experimenting with different gestures or rhythms that feel more freeing or expansive. Notice any changes in how your body feels — perhaps a lightness in your limbs, a loosening of tightness, or a warmth spreading through your chest.
